President's Report

Happy 2019 Las Vegas NACE Members!

We have an exciting year ahead of us and I’m looking forward to celebrating with you each month. We welcome our new board members and they are working hard to put together great education and events. We are excited to start the year off at Smoked Burgers & BBQ located in the Caesars Forum Shops on Jan 16 for lunch! We will learn about upcoming do’s and redo’s in the BBQ trend world hoping to add some spice to your life and event menus.

If you haven’t seen the email blast yet,  the Experience 2019 Scholarship application for NACE National Conference in Cincinnati this coming July has been sent to all Las Vegas NACE Members. Start counting up your points for meetings attended, donated items and services from 2018 and get your application in before 5PM on March 1, 2019!

Some exciting news, the board just recently appointed Donna Murray from Quest Events as this year’s fundraising chair! Thank you Donna and we know you are going to do an excellent job and we are happy to have you on the board!

Still don’t have your CPCE certification? I know you’ve been thinking about it and it’s probably one of your 2019 goals. If you’re interested in taking the exam, please reach out to me directly at so we can help set you up for success!

Corporate Executive Chef

As the Corporate Executive Chef for Hospitality Boulevard, David Mangual oversees the culinary staff and is responsible for the creative development, preparation and cost analysis for all venues and menus. He is also a founding member of Hospitality Boulevard.

Originally from East Chicago, Chef David has 25 years of culinary experience and specializes in the preparation of a wide variety of unique international cuisine. Prior to joining the team at Hospitality Boulevard, Chef David Mangual also opened sbe’s first restaurant in Las Vegas, Double Barrel Road House, as the top executive chef position and worked with several renowned restaurants in the city including the first AAA Five Diamond Award recipient in Las Vegas, Renoir by Chef Alex Stratta, and Osteria del Circo, Le Cirque, Hyde Bellagio Nightclub, Hyde @ T-Mobile Arena and Sensi at Bellagio.

An active member of the community, Chef David has participated in numerous fundraisers and volunteered with many nonprofit organizations over the years, including his past work with the Community College of Southern Nevada’s (CCSN) culinary club, Les Amis de Savarin.

When he is not creating menus for Hospitality Boulevard, Chef David spends time at home preparing Italian food and pizzas on his backyard barbecue grill and building classic cars in his garage.

Raffle Dazzle


25% of our raffle funds will help fund our Community Service donations. We are consolidating our efforts at meetings to continue to fund the great work of our Community Service Committee. The Las Vegas NACE Chapter  continues to partner with local non-profit organizations to give back including Street Teens, Olive Crest and Candlelighters.

Thank you for your participation and support for the Las Vegas Chapter of NACE. Each year, members who contribute to the success of the local chapter through donation of time and services to the success of monthly events as well as participation in local and National events are eligible for scholarship funds to attend the annual Experience! Conference. This year, the conference will be hosted July 14th-17th 2019  at the The Hilton Netherland Plaza Downtown Cincinnati

Join members of NACE from around the country, learn about current trends, network with other Catering & Event Professionals, and gain insight from a variety of speakers and educational sessions.  Experience is consistently ranked as a high value and those who have attended recommend the conference to others and come back again and again. Community Service


The Las Vegas NACE Chapter embraces the Spirit of NACE in our commitment to our local community in believes in supporting our community through outreach to local organizations.  Each month, our Community Service Committee organizes to support a variety of local charities including Candlelighters, Street Teens, and Shade Tree.  Money raised at meetings goes to a variety of items to support these charities, from bottled water to gift cards.  If you are interested in assisting with any of their efforts, please contact Kay Kolbo for more information.

As 2018 came to an end, we were able to once again give from our hearts to the wonderful organizations of Olive Crest, Candlelighters , and Street Teens of Nevada. A combined 50 toys were given to the children of Olive Crest and Candlelighters , we concluded our year of giving to the Street Teens by providing them with a hot meal and needed goods for their day to day life at the center. As 2018 ends, we have already started 2019 and another year of giving ! Everyone! Remember! Although the season of giving may be over, the need is still there. Think of those in need. Every minute, every hour, every day.......Give Back !!!

NACE Legacy


NACE started with humble beginnings in 1958 in New York City as the Banquet Managers Guild.  Over the years, the organization has grown across the country and with the industry to become "One Industry, One Association".  

From its local beginnings in New York City, NACE has grown to encompass more than 4,000 members in more than 40 chapters in North America. NACE continues to raise the standard of professionalism in the industry through education, certification, standards, ethics and professional recognition programs. NACE supports the continuing education of our future leaders and current members in the industry.  There are a variety of scholarship opportunities for Catering and Event Professionals interested in attending Experience Conference, earning your certification of CPCE, or furthering your eduction.  For more information, visit our Scholarship Webpage to learn how to support your continuing development and success.

Scholarship Forms

Scholarship applications are due by 5:00 PM on March 1, 2018 and are to be submitted via email to . Scholarships are awarded to professional members based on eligibility and points to help defray costs for registration, airfare, or accommodations.   


In order to be eligible you must:

  1. Be a professional member of the Las Vegas Chapter in good standing for at least one year at the time of application and through the conference.
  2. Attend all NACE Experience! educational sessions and events as included in the scholarship fee and arriving by 3:00 PM on the opening date and through the end of events on Wednesday.
  3. Act professionally in representing the Las Vegas Chapter and abiding by the Code of Ethics of NACE membership.
  4. All other costs of lodging, travel, meals outside of the planned events and entertainment are the attendee’s responsibility.
  5. Submit an article to the newsletter by August 1, 2019.

Chapter News

The NACE Las Vegas Chapter newsletter offers you the opportunity to link with other Catering and Event Professionals.  Our newsletter is published quarterly and accepts submissions for articles, calendar of events, employment opportunities, community service, business updates, and other NACE success stories.

Articles:  To submit an article or other information for inclusion for our next newsletter please submit your information by the 4th day of the month.  The Calendar of Events and Employment Opportunities will be updated weekly as we receive information.  What are you waiting for?  Be in the NEWS! 

Calendar of Events:  Share your upcoming events such as open houses, grand openings, or showcases to invite other NACE members to participate or attend.  We will update this regularly even after the newsletter is issued so check back regularly to see what is new!

Employment Opportunities:  Have you checked out the classifieds?  If you are seeking another qualified individual for your business send us information including the title of the position, qualifications, contact information, and any other pertinent information to attract other industry professionals!  And don't forget to let us know once the position is filled to welcome them!
